The Center for Applied Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Research works in coordination with the Biomedical Engineering department of the Catholic University of America and the research department of the Medstar National Rehabilitation Hospital.

• Design, fabricate and assemble an affordable, portable, passive hand exoskeletons for stroke rehabilitation
• Provide rehabilitation training to post-stroke subjects using the clinic-based Hexorr Robot
• Implemented a magnetic tracking device for daily tracking of home rehabilitation
• Involved in patient recruitment for studies

  • Utilize both commercially available and proprietary image registration, image analysis and tracer kinetic modeling software in relation to HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND)

  • Serve as an engineering resource by conducting material analysis, mechanical characterization, microscopy, and spectroscopy of materials in support of research studies and product advancements

Natural Gas Pipeline Welding

Since 1978, STI Group has served the chemical refining, petrochemical, oil & gas production, drilling, energy, power generation, pulp & paper and related industries.

  • Successfully learned and practiced how to weld, machine, heat treated and fitted gas pipe lines
  • Performed fracture analysis and mechanical strength testing on pipe materials
